Sponsorship Levels

Patron - $100,000 (Large company 1), $50,000 (SME 2)

Number of openings: Large company – 5, SME – 3

Patron sponsorship offers companies the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences in making tangible and significant progress in embedding universal principles into their organization’s strategies, operations and culture, as well as engaging in public-private partnerships to advance broad societal goals. Patron messages and examples of relevant work will be featured in sponsorship communications vehicles before and during the Leaders Summit, for example on the summit website and in the participant booklet.

Greening - $100,000

Number of openings: 1

The 2010 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit is being organized as a fully responsible and sustainable event, reinforcing the Ten Principles at all phases of Summit design and execution, including with contractors. Working closely with sustainable event experts MCI Group and the environmental award-winning Marriott hotel group, the event will be organized and externally certified following the most robust process available, the BS8901 Sustainable Event Management System. Additionally, all 1,500 Summit participants will be encouraged to offset their CO2 emissions3 through the purchase of Gold Standard Certified Emission Reductions and Gold Standard Verified Emission Reductions. A portion of the Greening sponsor’s contribution may be directed to cover emissions of organizations less able to pay.

Special requirement: The Greening sponsor must have demonstrated a proven commitment to tackling climate change and advancing sustainability in their company – for example through engaging in Caring for Climate, reporting greenhouse gas emissions and strategic climate change data to the Carbon Disclosure Project, or similar actions.

Founders Circle - $50,000

At the launch of the Global Compact on 26 July 2000, just over 40 companies sent executives to UN Headquarters in New York to publicly commit to a new United Nations venture in the corporate responsibility realm. Their early support and advocacy was essential for firmly establishing the initiative and providing credibility at this critical start-up phase. In conjunction with the Leaders Summit 2010, the 10th anniversary of the UN Global Compact will be celebrated by all participants at a Gala Dinner on 24 June. Central to the celebration will be a tribute to these founding companies – recognizing their foresight, early dedication and ongoing work to advance the principles of the UN Global Compact. The Founders Circle will be the official sponsor of this celebratory Gala Dinner.

Special requirement: Founders Circle sponsors must be among the 40+ companies that joined the UN Global Compact prior to or at the launch on 26 July 2000.

Supporter - $50,000 (Large company); $30,000 (SME)

Number of openings: Large company – 10, SME – 10

Supporter sponsorship provides corporate responsibility and sustainability leaders the opportunity to demonstrate commitment to the UN Global Compact and advancement of the ten principles around the world.

2  SME defined as small and medium-sized enterprises with less than 250 employees.
3  The travel of 1,500 participants to attend the Summit will produce approximately 3,000 tons of CO2 equivalents or 265 years of emissions for an average US household.
