From whom does the Foundation accept donations?
The Foundation accepts donations from any donor (whether corporate, foundation or an individual) provided that acceptance of the donation would not threaten the integrity of the Foundation, the UN Global Compact Office or the initiative as a whole. In general, it is expected that contributors to the Foundation will be participants or other stakeholders of the Global Compact.
What are donated funds spent on?
Contributions are used to fund important activities of the Global Compact Office, such as events, publications and studies aimed at raising awareness of the UN Global Compact, its principles and how to implement them. Click here to see current funding priorities. To maximize the benefit that flows from donations, administrative costs are kept to a minimum.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Donations can be made by cheque or money order in United States dollars. Credit card payments will be accepted on the Foundation's website shortly.
Are in kind donations accepted?
Cash contributions are preferred because they are more used for the identified priorities. However, in kind donations will be considered on a case by case basis.
Are contributions to the Foundation tax deductible?
Whether contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible will depend on the tax laws of your country. In many countries, contributions to charities, like the Foundation, are tax deductible as a business expense for companies. The Foundation is a 501(3)(c).
If I donate, can I use the Global Compact logo?
Use of the Global Compact name and logos is covered by a logo policy.

How is the UN Global Compact Office funded?
The UN Global Compact Office receives almost no funding from the regular budget of the United Nations. Salaries of its staff and its operating expenses are paid out of a trust fund to which governments make voluntary contributions on an annual basis. The Foundation has been established as a way to source funding from the private sector, including business, foundations and individuals, for events, publications, research and other activities to help raise awareness of the UN Global Compact, its ten principles and the ways of implementing them
Does the Foundation accept proposals and requests for funding?
The Foundation exists to support the work of the UN Global Compact Office and related activities. It does not accept unsolicited funding proposals or requests for funding.
