Overview

Established in 2006, the Foundation for the Global Compact raises funds from the private sector to support the work of the United Nations Global Compact. All companies participating in the UN Global Compact are asked to make an annual voluntary contribution to the Foundation. These donations are vital to the initiative’s ability to provide a valuable framework for corporate change and innovation around environmental, social and governance issues.

The Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization under New York State law, provides funds for Global Compact projects that seek to:

  1. Raise awareness of the UN Global Compact;
  2. Deepen engagement in the initiative by companies and other stakeholders; and
  3. Assist participants in implementing the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and undertaking partnerships.
